In a significant show of commitment to education and student preparedness, Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni, Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North, has facilitated the distribution of over 1,200 mathematical sets to candidates sitting for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The initiative, which covers more than 85 public and private schools across the constituency, is aimed at ensuring that no candidate is left without the essential tools required for the examination.
Speaking on the intervention, the effort reflects Hon. Awuni’s belief that every child deserves a fair opportunity to succeed, regardless of background. By equipping students with the necessary materials ahead of their exams, the programme seeks to remove barriers that could hinder performance and confidence in the examination hall.

Education continues to remain a key priority in Okaikwei North, with sustained efforts focused on supporting both students and institutions to achieve better outcomes. This latest intervention adds to a growing list of initiatives targeted at strengthening the foundation of learning within the constituency.

Beneficiary schools and parents have welcomed the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful, particularly as candidates enter the final phase of preparation for the BECE.

As the examinations approach, Hon. Awuni has extended her encouragement to all candidates, urging them to remain focused and confident. She also commended teachers and parents for their continued dedication and support throughout the academic journey.
The distribution exercise reinforces a simple but powerful message: when a community invests in its children, it invests in its future.
